In light of marketers’ hyper-focus on providing more personalized customer experiences than ever, last week couldn’t have brought two more perfectly timed events: the Sitecore Symposium and launch of Sitecore Experience Cloud.
We were excited to join other digital marketers, developers, and technologists at The Mirage Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, for the two-and-a-half-day marquee event and product launch. Here, CX experts got the opportunity to exchange thoughts and best practices on “Driving Your Digital Destiny”—activating the power of data to maximize personalization—and to learn about how Sitecore’s new solutions personalize digital experiences even further. From dozens of seminars, breakout sessions, and keynotes, here are some of our most memorable moments.
Sessions provided a great space to reflect on how brands are using technology to go global. Sitecore leaders and guests covered just about everything relevant to today’s product development and marketing programs, from personalization to technology optimization to digital content marketing.
Our own Senior Director of Global Offerings, Arnie Koh, gave a presentation entitled “Driving Global Customer Experiences Through Language.” The talk and demo, demonstrated by Lionbridge Channels & Alliances Manager, Chris DiPietro, explored pitfalls and best practices in globalization. His advice? “At a time when global reach is just a swipe or click away, language must remain a priority for any successful digital customer experience strategy.”
Our favorite session was from Meena Verma, Global Digital Marketing Manager at Alpha Assembly Solutions. Verma gave a great talk on “Globalizing Your Message with Localization” and what to include in your translation strategy to build lasting relationships with global customers, delivering the right content to the right audience at the right time.
“In today’s highly connected world, brands must ensure they are communicating consistent messages that are clear and impactful across all customer regions and cultural boundaries,” she said.
What would keynote learnings be without a platform to put them into practice? The crowd was eager to get a glimpse of the newly unveiled Sitecore Experience Cloud, but was also treated to updates on the flagship Sitecore Experience Platform. Enhancements to the platform addressed data and integration with more holistic customer views, machine learning to provide stronger insights, commerce integration for a seamless personalized experience between content and commerce, and more flexibility in cloud deployments.
For live demos of the Lionbridge Connector for Sitecore, our booth was the place to be. We had some great conversations with clients trying to figure out ways to go global with more efficiency. Several visited us to talk about their current state of translation—most often involving manual processes that take time away from other important tasks—and how the Lionbridge Connector into Sitecore helps streamline translation management.
The after party
On day two, along with Coveo, we hosted a networking cocktail party at The Still bar in The Mirage and were lucky to have an amazing turnout. Over 70 of our partners, customers, and peer professionals came to round off the event with drinks, dessert, and brainstorming. Thanks for joining us!
- Globalization needs to be planned and accounted for early on, not left as an afterthought.
- Sitecore has improved focus on its partner ecosystem and providing best-in-class services to its end clients.
- As Sitecore continues to extend its platform by addressing data and integration, commerce, and machine learning, the company is becoming less a web CMS and more a full customer experience platform—one that exceeds customer expectations and wins loyalty for life.
We’re already looking forward to the 2018 event and hearing about successes putting this year’s ideas into action. In the meantime, learn more about multilingual translation and our partnership with Sitecore.
